Another obscure yet memorable running shoe from adidas’ late-1990s archive is making a return. Released towards the tail-end of the brand’s Feet You Wear category, the EQT Solution had immense mental replay value for its unconventional take on the logo; it presented the three-stripes in a highly unconventional form to fall in line with FYW’s exaggerated and abstract direction and interpretation. The EQT Solution was one of several popular silhouettes of that time, with stand-out colorways in white/red/navy and royal/grey/neon propping up the ambitious new product during one of the most experimental eras of running shoe design history.
This first look at the adidas EQT Solution reveals a true-to-the-OG construction, with the adidas Performance logos remaining on the upper (the Yung-1, for example removed those logos). It also appears that the “Solution” script on the tongue as been removed as well. Furthermore, it’s not entirely confirmed of the brand has chosen to stay with the given name (it could be renamed like the Falcon was). A release date hasn’t been provided, so stay tuned for an update and check these images of the adidas EQT Solution Retro below.
