The Nike Air MX 720-818 Borrows The “Silver Bullet” Look

The Nike Air MX 720-818 Borrows The “Silver Bullet” Look

As if combining the iconic Air Max 98 and the newer Air Max 720 wasn’t enough, Nike has thrown the Air Max 97‘s fan-favorite “Silver Bullet” color scheme into the mix on its forthcoming MX 720-818. Inspired by the advanced bullet trains in Japan, the metallic hue complements the futuristic silhouette’s streamlined upper, evoking the model’s design inspiration: nylon astronaut suits. The scheme’s red half only appears on Swoosh branding at the toe and midfoot, the “max” text on the tongue tab, and the sole tread patch at the forefoot, but provides the same oomph that enabled the Christian Tresser-designed sneaker to gain a cult-like following in Italy and elsewhere. Supporting this “Silver Bullet” look is the plump Air unit – debuted earlier this year on the 720 – left simple on this upcoming faithful-to-the-OG iteration.

Grab a closer look at this pair here below and anticipate these to drop on Nike.com in the first half of 2020.
