Hate to break it to everyone, but the colder months are still ahead of us. That said, Nike isn’t quite ready to usher in the soft pastels and low-cut models for Spring just yet, because Nike’s ACG division just revealed the Air Terra Antarktik – a muscular boot-like model fortified with the defensive Gore-Tex membrane. Built to withstand the wet, uneven, and unpleasant surfaces caused by snowfall, this Antarktik model boasts ample toe and heel protection as the rubber outsole scoops upwards to encase the foot, while a lighter waterproof nylon acts as the main skin. A wide lacing system and an ankle strap held down by adhesive fabric patches ensures stability and full coverage, while emphatic traction on the outsole is in place to prevent slippage. This beefed up ACG shoe is set to arrive at select retailers on January 16th.
