Jovani Hernandez Since 1989, Nike has been offering city-dwellers and explorers alike all-terrain, weatherproof footwear options under the All Conditions Gear (ACG) line. While aggressive traction and GORE-TEX uppers have been mainstays of the sub-brand, the past few years have seen the ACG range adopt a more lifestyle-oriented approach – perhaps best demonstrated by last season’s React Terra Gobe and Air Moc 3.0. But the recently unveiled Air Terra Antarktik is a departure from these more casual solutions. Built tall, the new model shares DNA with the Terra Zaherra – namely the jutting heel – and resembles Nike’s tactial SFB collection, but the Antarktik takes its weatherproofing a step further. Inspired by the sleeves on technical winter jackets, ripstop uppers are lined with GORE-TEX and feature an easy-entry Velcro enclosure to keep your foot snug and protected. Reflective branding and other details are scattered all throughout to provide visibility at night. Through extensive testing in Oregon, Nike reworked both the lug configuration and tread to ensure its new model would withstand even the most difficult surfaces and environments. Despite its function-first features, the Antarktik is launching in three stylish colorways featuring blacks, olives, whites, and yellows.

While pairs of the “Midnight” version have released at select retailers, all three colorways are scheduled for a wider drop come February 1st, 2020.
