While IVY PARK and adidas Yeezy helped The Three Stripes Brand go head-to-head with Nike during last week’s news cycle, the Beaverton-based sportswear juggernaut unquestionably came out on top this week, not only through its own merit, but with the help of a few collaborators. Of the latter, Union Los Angeles confirmed via Twitter that it’s getting another go-around at designing an Air Jordan, this time opting for the Jordan 4. Virgil Abloh also took to social media to debut a black-soled alternative of his Air Force 1 “MCA” ahead of his Paris Fashion Week showings with Louis Vuitton and Off-White attended by the likes of Bella Hadid and Don C, who also teased another Jordan 2 he and Jordan Brand have lined up. Though inline, a commemorative Super Bowl LIV Pack – including a Jordan 10 and Jordan Max 200 – from JB added some more excitement to the game ahead of its February 2nd kick-off date. On the other side of campus, Nike released images of both basketball and lifestyle silhouettes donning colorways and motifs associated with the impending Black History Month. Elsewhere in its design kitchen, The Swoosh dressed up the Air Max 90 in outfits resembling Parisian bakers, New York firemen, among other professionals, as part of a “uniforms-around-the-world” collection. Though more Yeezy Boost 350 v2s were confirmed for 2020, the model’s forthcoming “Marsh” and “Cinder” iterations add more subdued looks to a roster already clad with earth tones. And if you’ve grown tired of the silhouette Drake once rapped to never wear around him, Under Armour and Joel Embiid are slated to launch a brand new signature sneaker – the first for the Philadelphia Sixers big-man – later in the Fall. For all that and much more, check out our top seventeen headlines from January 11th to January 17th here ahead.
