Though light-colored palettes are nothing new to the classic runner and this iteration is just one of dozens of releases planned for its 30th Anniversary, this ensemble ups the romantic ante with a few playful nods to the February 14th holiday. The recrafted uppers on this pair share an off-white base with their midsole counterparts, but are given varying festive treatments between right and left shoe. On the former, pistachio hues take over the AM90’s signature cassette and TPU eyestays, while also making an appearance on the tongue and insole, both featuring a red heart graphic pierced by a faint-purple swoosh. All the same features are included on the other foot, but in a soft lilac. Rounding out the Valentine’s Day arrangement and to playfully acknowledge the “U* COMPLETE ME” message found on the insole and exchanged by countless lovers, Nike branding across the mudguard and heel has been filled-in on the right shoe, whereas it stands either outlined or cut-out, respectively, on the left shoe, awaiting for its complement.
