In the past few months, 4D tech has become much more prevalent compared to its debut, pricing coming down alongside. With adidas’ many branches — Y-3, Consortium, etc. — receiving their own renditions, it’s likely to take over Boost if given the time. With 2020 hiding quite a bit more for the cushioning, the latest to make its reveal is yet another blend with the revered ZX Line, a series of classic stylings that has only just made its way back to the forefront. The line-up — to further attune the pair to its very ethos — lends quite the imposing silhouette with paneling sitting at the line between futuristic and retro. Toe boxes are taped with reflective paneling, subtly shrouding a base of radial patterned textile, while the vamp adds bulk by way of a white synthetic that’s also employed on the forefoot’s eye stay pieces. Elsewhere, the Three Stripes at the side brighten up with light to match the heel wrap’s treatment, with an accentuated heel pull proffering black molds marked by the brand’s penchant for Japanese characters. Another detail of note is the sole’s coloring, one whose typical finish is replaced by a gradient that starts dark and finishes with a florescent blue. Grab a detailed look at these here and sit tight for word on its official adidas.com release.
