Nike’s New Alphina 5000 Screams All Things 2000s

Nike’s New Alphina 5000 Screams All Things 2000s

It’s been quite the eventful year for Nike’s design and innovation team already as they have unveiled compelling new silhouettes such as their Space Hippie collection, Vapormax 2020, the Adapt Auto Max and more. And now, the Swoosh’s running category has just uncovered their newest proposal for the Spring season, arriving in the form of the Alphina 5000. From a design perspective, this new model comes as an ode to one of Nike’s technological advancements from 2008 – Flywire. The popular cable support system is paired up next to 2000s-inspired running features such as its carved-out and chunky midsoles reminiscent of the P-6000 silhouette. Modernized touches are presented through elements such as the TPU Swoosh panel affixed onto the lateral walls, the abstract/futuristic overlays, and the added midsole panel that houses an additional branded embellishment. Two colorways including multi-color and grey variations are set to debut this Spring on Nike.com, so keep it locked as we learn more of its official launch date and pricing info. Peep a closer look at each style here ahead.

In other news, the New Balance 990v5 just dropped in a clean “Nimbus Cloud” colorway.
