As of late, much of the hype surrounding the Nike Daybreak has been related to its experimental Daybreak Type iteration, but this recently-surfaced “Topaz Gold” pair is sure to bring some attention back to the original.
Constructed with a TPU base akin to the React Element 87, uppers on this 1979 classic boast a golden-yellow. Accompanying suede overlays at the forefoot, throat and heel follow suit, though breathable lining on the tongue and collar introduce “Lemon Wash” into the mix. Branding on the tongue label and insole harken back to the Daybreak‘s debut era, given the “Orange” Swooshes. Its counterparts at the profiles forgo any of the aforementioned hues in favor of a rich “Cedar,” which also animates the hairy swath at the achilles. Underfoot, a “Summit White” midsole/”Black” waffle outsole combination completes this iteration of the historically-important runner.
No details of an official Nike.com launch are yet known, but pairs of this impressive Daybreak arrive to select European retailers on May 1st. For now, enjoy a closer look at the shoes here below.
Elsewhere under the NIKE, Inc. umbrella, the Jordan Delta SP arrives in “Black” on June 6th.
