Jovani Hernandez From the lifestyle-oriented to the performance-related, “Pink Quartz” has appeared on a slew of products from NIKE, Inc. this year. And its latest application arrives on three rugged silhouettes made for the outdoors: Pegasus 36 Trail, Wildhorse 6 and Terra Kiger 6.
The predecessor to the recently-lanched Pegasus 37 upgrades its fan-favorite upper and cushioning with features meant for paths less traveled. A roomier forefoot works in tandem with outsole lugs to secure a comfortable, stable stride. Perforated mesh and synthetic construction up top, which also boasts a “Canyon Pink” hue, deliver breathability while ensuring durability around high-wear zones.
By comparison, the Wildhorse 6 ups the rugged ante, not only in silhouette, but also build. A woven heel enters the mix at the rear, just as a utility tab for easy on-and-off access does. Furthermore, a sock-like collar and synthetic overlays along the toe ensure some of the elements are kept out. “Sky Grey” and “Pale Ivory” take over the pair’s React foam midsole and aggressive outsole combination.
Although close in shape to the Pegasus 36, the Terra Kiger 6 proffers design elements specifically engineered for trail running. Mixed synthetic leather and textile uppers are clad in “Pink Quartz” and built with water-resistance. A segmented rock plate in the forefoot helps protect the foot on rough terrain without sacrificing flexibility or groundfeel. The dual cushioning underfoot and its accompanying multidirectional tread further cement the model as outdoors-ready while winning over more style points in “Sky Grey” and “Pale Ivory”
