Jovani Hernandez As dozens of marathons across the globe get canceled for the first time in their existence because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Karhu is ready to celebrate the original 25 mile run with its “Marathon” Pack.
The collection, which includes the Kanye West-approved Fusion 2.0 and two pairs of the Legacy 96, highlights Greece and Finland’s rich history in running with vibrant color-blocking and premium materials. Both Legacy 96s are constructed with white leather uppers that are overlaid with either “Golden Rod” or “Barbados Cherry” suede panels at the toe and heel. Accompanying rich blue accents throughout ostensibly nod to both countries’ flags.
By comparison, the Fusion 2.0, whose first edition launched in 1996, is almost exclusively clad in “Campanula/Bright White.” Akin to its “Helsinki Run” iteration from 2017, the modernized-Fusion boasts an eye-catching blue at the forefoot and rear, as well as black lace loop structures at the profiles. A faded pink enters the mix at upper eyestays and partial tread underfoot. Among the trio, the Fusion 2.0 may be the most direct nod to Greece and Finland’s flags.
