Michael Le Debuted to an extremely positive public reception, Nike’s newly invented Space Hippie collection is equal parts sustainability and aesthetics. Its branching series of silhouettes — from the 01 onward — crafts multiple takes replete of utilitarian fixtures and material compositions visually evident of their recycled nature. And despite being a day shy from the inaugural colorways’ official release, Nike is already preparing a brand new ensemble for just a bit further down the road.
The Space Hippie 01, whose presentation is more simple relative to the 02 and 03, is one of the first to reveal, showcasing a scheme that’s but a simple departure from its predecessor. Instead of the vibrant orange used prior, the upper leans towards a much brighter Volt green stitch which is used for the Swooshes at the profile as well as the contrast thread that runs parallel across the eye stay. Elsewhere, the same neutral grey knit is repurposed, with black webbing applied at the ankle and lace unit. Aqua blue strings through achromatic loops while further color can be found embedded in the Grind-made tooling.
