From familiar “Grey Fog” color schemes to experimental mountaineering-inspired arrangements, the Nike Air Max 90 has worn several outfits throughout its 30th Anniversary. Its latest combines subtle and build as it features a handful of exotic animal skins predominantly clad in black and complemented by mis-matched branding.
Pony hair, ostrich, and crocodile skin take over most of the 30-year-old silhouette’s upper, with the most latter appearing at the mudguards. Eyestays and heel logos maintain their TPU composition, while forefoot and midfoot overlays and collar panels boast respective non-standard leather and perforated mesh constructions. While less eye-catching than its reptilian scales and hairy swaths, this Air Max 90 also forgoes any inner lining, similar to previous iterations of the Air Max 1. Medial profiles and “AIR MAX” branding interrupt their dark surroundings with rich scarlet (right) and pink (left) hues. Underfoot, sole units fully indulge in the all-black palette pervasive on this pair.
An official release date is still unknown, but this exotic Air Max 90 is likely to launch on Nike.com soon. In the meantime, enjoy official images of the shoes ahead.
