Jovani Hernandez Already boasting a roster of collaborators the likes of Prada and Human Made, the adidas Superstar‘s 50th Anniversary celebration will soon include a glamorous take on the shell-toe by Austrian glass-producer Swarovski.
At a glance, the classic adidas pair appears almost-identical to its inaugural arrangement from 1970, but closer inspection reveals otherwise. “Footwear White” leather from vamp to heel sets the stage for the shimmering crystals that overtake the Superstar‘s signature “Core Black” branding: profile 3-Stripes, tongue labels, and heel trefoil logos and panels. Also set to arrive in the platformed Bold iteration, this option keeps things as original as possible, forgoing any detachable jewels. Lace dubraes, however, acknowledge the collaboration. Underfoot, sole units maintain their debut “Footwear White” makeup.
A release date is still unknown, but this Swarovski crystal-encrusted Superstar is likely to arrive to adidas.com by the holiday season. In the meantime, enjoy official images of the pair here below.
