In its short lifespan, Donovan Mitchell‘s adidas D.O.N. Issue 2 has been noticeably intentional in terms of being executed with that of themed-makeovers. So far, the hoops-ready silhouette has been reinterpreted through collaborative projects with the likes of Marvel, Crayola, and popular Pixar series Toy Story, and now it will be readying a new colorway that commemorates the late October/early November celebrations of the Day of the Dead aka Día de Los Muertos.
Visually, you’ll find that both the base layer and midsoles equally furnished with an off-white paint job which in this case works perfectly considering that the main elements of this pair are evident through its surrounding graphic decor. Vibrant imagery associated with the Mexican holiday such as skeleton heads, spider webs and floral patterns are scattered in across the upper in areas such as the toe box, heels and side walls, as well as in collage form underneath its translucent treading. On top of that, additional accents pop out through the shoe strings which are doused in a forest green, in addition the medial heel stripe branding.
