NIKE, Inc. has been revisiting some of the most exclusive propositions within its early 2000s catalog all throughout 2020. Among them, several releases previously only found in Japan. And while the Tokyo Olympics have been postponed until next year, the North American sportswear behemoth has moved forward with retroing a handful of pairs originally created under the co.jp category. Although not associated to the historic imprint, another Nike Air Force 1 B from 2001 has recently been rumored to return in early 2021.
Preceded by both “Wheat” (2020) and “Hong Kong” (2018) retros, the forthcoming “Silver Snake” pair time travels to a point in the Swoosh’s history in which its design details were rather exclusive. Clad in “Black/Silver,” the low-top silhouette divides its upper into premium leather and reflective overlays, the latter wrapped around the forefoot and covering the lace guards and rear side panels. As was the case nine years ago, profile swooshes on this Air Force 1 Low feature greyscale snakeskin; teaser images don’t display branding on the tongue and heel well, but “NIKE AIR” text on both are sure to indulge in the purple tone from the original. Underfoot, sole units opt into a tried-and-tested white and “Black” midsole/outsole combination.
For more from the Swoosh, the Nike Kyrie 7 has been revealed.
The Nike Air Force 1 B “Silver Snake” is set to launch on January 28th.
