From gem-like dubrae pieces on the Air Force 1 ’07 LX to enamel charms on the Air Max 95, Nike has been proving that bling can go beyond necklaces and rings as a playful way to accessorize a simple silhouette. Following the release of an Air Force 1 Low Pixel that features a gold chain and pendant, an upcoming Air Max 90 is outfitted with the same jewelry piece.
Creating a clean canvas for accessories, the Air Max 90’s uppers are painted in a very slightly gray-tinted Summit White color. A striped corduroy-like material is used on the tongue and collar for texture. The swoosh even opts for an almost satin finish for added dimension. To match the jewelry, the branding on the tongue is printed in gold. The gold chain then dangles down the tongue, complete with a gold swoosh pendant that has a pebble-esque pattern. As a final touch, the plastic lace tips are swapped out for matching gold metal ones, furthering the luxe factor of the model.
The Air Max 90 will be available at Nike.com on December 5th. In other news about the Force, take a look at the Air Force 1 “Typography”.
