Michael Le Since ACG left Errolson Hugh’s hands, the line-up began to deliver an extensive number of brand new models. Among them, the Mountain Fly answered the All Conditions Gear mantra with forward-thinking innovation, considered material choice, and a tooling packed with utility. Now, for 2021, the silhouette will be returning in a new low-top shape, its inaugural colorway exclusive to the Canadian retailer Haven‘s doors.
Thankfully, the sole maintains all of the same features previously proposed. The hard rubber utilized all throughout wraps up onto the toe for extra durability, better revealing the thick, chevron lugs that provide both grip and propulsion underfoot. Carbon-fiber plates lie subtly within as well, borrowed from the equally groundbreaking NEXT% series. ACG-informed speckling then marks the greyed midsole over top for aesthetic flair, while the rest of the upper — whose construction consists of ripstop and reflective taping primarily — opts for a full blacked out base with some seemingly holographic branded patches.
