Michael Le If the “University Blue” was Spring’s flagship hero, then the Air Jordan 1 “Hyper Royal” deserves the crown this Summer. Undoubtedly one of the year’s most anticipated releases, the colorway arrives soon in a construction and material similar to 2019’s “Turbo Green.”
Though they missed the opportunity to call it the “Turbo Blue,” the colorway is at least visually obvious in its connection to the aforementioned. Velvety suedes dress in the bright blue shade, subtly distressed in a way reminiscent of tie-dye. Underneath, genuine leathers ground in white neutrals, matching the laces, nylon tongue, and the midsole as well. “Light Smoke Grey” then rounds off the design via the nubuck swoosh, collar, and the lightly contrasted tread.
