Once you put the stigma aside, the Air Jordan 1 Mid has an objectively vast and strong catalog of colorways. And among the new and bold, the silhouette often produces alluring remixes of the AJ1 High’s many icons.

Here, the “Royal” serves as a loose but observable inspiration, as the titular blue only dresses the upper in seldom. It finds its place atop the Swoosh, collar, and the Jumpman/Wings branding, while the construction elsewhere keeps it neat with black and white neutrals. The latter, as per usual, builds out the base underneath, contrasting the fixtures atop — e.g. the tongue, eye stay, toe cap, counter, etc. — who opt for the much darker shade.
