New Balance Sole-Swaps The 1500 And 991 For The 1591

New Balance Sole-Swaps The 1500 And 991 For The 1591

New Balance was a relatively quiet participator throughout the first few months of 2021. But with the month immediately past and upcoming, the brand is pulling out all the stops, offering not only their “Grey Day” releases but also this eccentric 1591 hybrid.

The upper, which stitches together a number of loud leather and suede panels, belongs wholly to the 1500. Its iconic shape — miniature “N” and all — transitions from cool to warm tonally, as the lower half bears shades of dark navy and lightly faded blues. The mesh insert at the toe follows suit more or less, but its quickly overshadowed by the deep yellow and magenta accents adjacent. A touch of brown also dresses around the collar, while brighter hits of grey mark the lace unit and tongue. Below, the 991 sole rounds off the construction with its traditional look and palette.

In other news, a Pink New Balance Vision Racer is releasing later this May.
