The Nike Zoom GT Run was essentially built for the world stage, its high level of performance made possible thanks to the forefoot’s double-stacked zoom and the full-length React sockliner/midsole. And today, the official start of the Summer Games, the silhouette is really getting into the spirit, displaying each of the five colors used across the Olympic rings.
An homage in no uncertain terms, the colorway celebrates the event as a whole. Blue, red, yellow, and green dresses the entire midsole, each gradating ever-so-slightly where they meet. In contrast, the upper is far more subdued: the synthetic along the heel, collar, and eye stay give off a synthetic feel, while the forefoot threads like that of lace. Then, the Swoosh and lace unit round out the Olympic quintet, dressing down in a dark black shade.
