Jasmine Tang The art of collaboration has been blurring the line between pop culture and sneakers, bringing sneakers into the mainstream and delivering styles that appeal to multiple fan bases. adidas, for instance, has been partnering with Disney for quite some time now, even delivering a collection of adidas Stan Smiths that includes over six styles that each pay tribute to a different fan-favorite character duo. This pack continues to expand via the addition of another Peter Pan and Tinkerbell-themed Stan Smith.
While the previous pair uses green and yellow embroidery to channel the magic of the two characters, this new proposition instead uses silver pendants on the laces. Specifically, the pair comes with three pairs of silver lace dubraes in the shape of Tinkerbell’s side profile, a star, and a feather. As for the sneaker itself, hints of silver metallic and more references to the franchise are applied throughout to keep the Disney magic going. The offering consists of a standard white Primegreen base with “PETER PAN” and “TINKERBELL” embossed on the sides—where the original Stan Smith branding would’ve been on. A pair of silver eyelets and a high-shine silver metallic heel tab add more touches of sparkle to the design. Insoles and a special box that have graphics of the duo printed on them round out the design for a magical offering fit for Disney and sneaker fans alike.
