Matte nubuck and suede leather make up the upper, which is taken over by a “Black” make up. Tongue and collar area deviate from their pitch-dark surroundings in the titular scarlet tone as a nod to lipstick. Metallic silver accents throughout the sole unit deliver more eye-catching flair to the low-top Air Jordan 14; the sports car-inspired Jumpman emblem on the lateral heel forgoes any speckled styling, but indulge in a shimmering finish. Lastly, the retro’s sock-liner and tissue paper packaging make the most overt call-back to the sneakers’ inspiration as they both include lipstick-related imagery and detailing.
