Michael Le Undoubtedly one of the most talented British designers of all-time, Nigel Cabourn easily commands an audience with his extensive vintage reference. And this love of archival extends to his upcoming collaboration with Vault by Vans, a capsule whose every piece acts as a love letter to a specific muse.
The Authentic LX sees a total of three different set-ups, each customized to resemble an older, even more iconic piece of work. One, whose construction is comprised of yellowed canvas, is embellished atop with “USN” text like a militaristic find many years old. Next, a green, red, and white camo takes hold of the upper, setting a colorful stage on which the aged, branded rivets and darning can perform. The trio is rounded out by a more contrast-heavy piece whose robust paneling alternates between different shades.
Moreover, the Slip-On proffers two drastically distinct looks. First, the classic mirrors vintage carpets, its entire exterior tufted with a variety of vibrant threads. Opposite, olive-tinged herringbone twill and canvas come together for yet another nod to militaria.
The Style 24 LX rounds out the collection as the only high-top of the pack. Its simpler, cap-toe look is made more interesting by way of a dark-washed denim, embroidered red arrows, and the eyelets prominent across many of the aforementioned.
