Nike’s Repurpose-Driven Dunk Low Scrap Appears In Classic Black/Gum

Nike’s Repurpose-Driven Dunk Low Scrap Appears In Classic Black/Gum

With the industry as a whole investing its innovation efforts in sustainability and reducing waste, footwear brands have focused less on bells and whistles and more on minimizing carbon footprints, excess material, and overall labor needs. While far from achieving zero waste, we’ve seen our favorite logos get creative with green initiatives in clandestine ways, such as the Next Nature series of essentials, and in outward methods, like the Dunk Low Scrap.

The Dunk Low Scrap looks to achieves that repurposed look as it grabs the silhouette of the Dunk via the use of scrap pieces typically discarded onto the factory floor. Random materials and overlays give it that DIY aesthetic, a trend that has grown hand-in-hand with sustainability movement over the last few years. This new model has already appeared in a number of colorful options, and it now adds a classic black/gum look with some minute accents of color via the thick embroidery and floating pieces on the lace collar.

This Dunk Low Scrap is expected to release this winter 2021 season, or possibly early 2022, for $110.
