Michael Le If not for its luxurious $520 asking price, the COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Air Foamposite One would have been more widely anticipated. But for those who aren’t turned off by the retail, this could be a positive thing as this will likely make tomorrow’s releases just a bit less stressful.
Prepared in both a black and white colorway, the collaboration offers very slight tweaks to the original silhouette. Everything from the lace unit to the sole is relatively standard, dyed one of the two aforementioned shades. Material-wise, they seem no less premium than existing pairs as well, keeping intact the leather panels, carbon fiber plate, and mesh tongue. The Foamposite shell itself, though, disrupts all familiarity, its exterior remolded to more closely resemble a Zen garden.
Finished with CdG insignia, the two CdG x Nike Air Foamposite Ones are slated to hit DoverStreetMarket.com tomorrow, November 5th. Like past releases, it’s possible will see a wider release in the near future.
