The Fucking Awesome x Vans UltimateWaffle EXP Features An Experimental Sturdy Stitch Upper

As aggressive as their name may be, Fucking Awesome‘s collaborations are often quite minimal, preferring to celebrate the various shoes their logo has chosen to stand atop. This rings true with their latest proposition, the UltimateWaffle EXP, which borrows Van’s expertise for a shoe far more experimental than their previous works.

Upon closer inspection, the shoe very quickly begins to impress. Its construction is made up of the new Sturdy Stitch, a TPU-based thread that is heat-pressed to a create a cohesive monomesh base. Additionally, the material is stacked for reinforcement, with multiple layers dressing the toe cap to protect against wear; a single panel is applied to the eye stay and heel, increasing abrasion resistance without compromising breathability and flex. RapidWeld tech also comes to the silhouette’s aid, providing more structure to the midfoot and vamp. Various logo hits, then, round out the shoe at the tongue and heel, the latter of which delivers “A.V.E” across the counter and Fucking Awesome co-branding along the see-through UltimateWaffle sole further below.

The Fucking Awesome x Vans UltimateWaffle EXP will be available December 9th at select retailers as well as Vans.com.

In other news, the Dunk Low Blueberry may be 2022’s 4/20 offering.
