As the brand’s first basketball sneaker, the Nike Blazer Mid ’77 has accomplished a lot since debuting on the hardwood in the 1970s. And while two-tone colorways continue to be the silhouette’s most celebrated, the Swoosh has constantly proven that it isn’t content with resting on its laurels.
Recently, the mid-top sneaker has appeared in all-white ensembles coupled with glittery contrast at the profile swooshes. For its latest proposition, a rich purple takes over the Carolyn Davidson-designed logo at the sidewalls, leaving accompanying branding on the tongue logo and heel to indulge in a “colorless” makeup. Reinforcement at the tip of the toe and lateral forefoot also blend in with their white-colored surroundings, differing from its usual grey “flair.” Underfoot, the Nike Blazer‘s iconic sole units (which have found great success under the Nike SB banner) are also left to revel in a simple arrangement that allows for the glittery profile swooshes to command the spotlight that much more.
