Vans’ history stretches miles; its shoes many, many years. And in honor of the Half Cab‘s 30th birthday, the Anaheim-based footwear brand has prepared the Skate Half Cab ’92, a tribute to the shoe’s deep-rooted history.
Back in 1992, skaters themselves created the Half Cab, cutting down high tops with only scissors and duct tape. And though it may lack the DIY aesthetic of these creations, the Skate Half Cab ’92 is still made with the same crowd in mind. A number of premium details ensure a better overall experience, with pig suede constructing the majority of the upper. The paneling, too, has been tweaked ever-so-subtly, with the toe cap and ollie patch separated for a more modern look. Additionally, the fit is much more secure as a result of molded counter, locked-in tongue strap, and heel hold, all of which complement the flexibility provided by the DURACAP underlay. Below, the bottom features a heavier knurl texture at its toe, durable SickStick gum, and the beloved PopCush footbeds.
Currently available in Dress Blues and Taupe, the Skate Half Cab ’92 retails for $75 USD. If you’d like to grab a pair, find both colorways right now at Vans.com.
Speaking of new offerings, Nike just unveiled the Dynama Go.
