LaMelo Ball’s PUMA MB.01 Gets A “Grey/Red” Makeover

LaMelo Ball’s PUMA MB.01 Gets A “Grey/Red” Makeover

Currently averaging nearly 20 points per game in the 2021-22 NBA season, LaMelo Ball continues to be a box office-attraction for the Charlotte Hornets. And while the 20-year-old’s play has helped him garner attention, so has his PUMA MB.01 signature sneaker.

Recently teased by PUMA Hoops’ social media team in a Rick And Morty-collaborative colorway, Ball’s first original design with the German sportswear outfitter is set to arrive in a two-tone grey and red color combination by mid-February. The breathable, but durable upper opts for a predominantly greyscale finish, though branding and other design cues inspired by the youngest Ball brother deviate in vibrant, seemingly-orange flair. Underfoot, Nitro Foam-cushioning is kept in place with a semi-translucent rubber compound that delivers a “smokey” aesthetic to the next iteration of LaMelo shoes; “RARE” text remains visible through the multi-directional tread, which has been praised by die-hard hoopers since debuting on December 16th, 2021.

Enjoy product shots of Ball’s latest signature sneaker here below, and anticipate a PUMA.com release on February 18th.

In other sneaker news, the adidas Adimatic skate shoe from 1996 is set to retro soon.
