A BATHING APE Rings In The “Year Of The Tiger” With The ROAD STA And SK8 STA

A BATHING APE Rings In The “Year Of The Tiger” With The ROAD STA And SK8 STA

Lunar New Year is just around the corner. And just as Nike, adidas, and the like are beginning to celebrate, so, too, is A BATHING APE. The Japanese label, with their ROAD STA and SK8 STA, is appropriately honoring the Year of the Tiger, outfitting the two silhouettes in patterns reminiscent of the fierce zodiac animal.

The ROAD STA leads the pack with a more simple arrangement, applying a light cream to both the midsole and upper. And while black may dress the STA logo, foxing, and heel, it’s largely drowned out by the faux fur overlays, whose stripes pay homage to the collection’s themes. Elsewhere, the pattern reappears atop the accompanying SK8 STA, dressing much more of the silhouette’s upper. Across the side, its star-shaped branding is bathed in a bright orange, matching not just the iconography adjacent but also a tiger’s own pelt.

For a closer look at the two-part capsule, check out the imagery below. Currently, the two are set to release on BAPE.com tomorrow, January 28th. A follow-up drop at select BAPE retailers will follow on January 29th.

In other news, the Dunk High Year of the Tiger celebrates the Lunar New Year in its own way.
