1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes were often handed out to Nike silhouettes — especially the Air Force 1. And with Bruce Kilgore’s beloved design turning 40-years-old, the brand is awarding the shoe a luxurious bronze medal.
The Air Force 1’s universal charm is not lost with the addition of the metal. Most of the colorway is built of neutral parts, with white shades dressing the Swoosh, forefoot, heel, and tongue. Black, then, highlights the Nike branding adjacent — atop the tongue and rear, specifically — while bronzed panels mark the heel tab and mid-panel.
