Although Air Jordan purists have widely written off the Jordan 6 Rings since the hybrid design debuted, the shoe inspired by the six signature sneakers in which Michael Jordan won his six NBA championships has won over some naysayers with colorways directly taken from some of those aforementioned championship-caliber models.
Recently, the sneaker surfaced in a “White” and “Sport Blue” look nodding to a fan-favorite take on the Air Jordan 6. Last seen in 2014, the “Sport Blue”-accented ensemble debuted in 1991 alongside “Infrared” and “Chicago” styles of the first signature sneaker in which #23 won an NBA title. Most of the upper is left to revel in a “colorless” arrangement, while lace toggles, Jumpman logos on the chenille tongue patch, collar lining and other surrounding details deviate in stark blue flair. Underfoot, the Air Jordan 13-informed outsole (which draws inspiration from a black panther’s paw) also indulges in the 6 Rings’ titular tone, rounding out the non-Air Jordan that’ll surely join some former purists’ sneaker rotations whenever it arrives.
Enjoy official images of the pair ahead, and anticipate a Nike.com launch soon.
