Parley and adidas have been creating part-recycled products ever since 2015, but few ever credit them for bringing sustainability into the sneaker mainstream. And though eyes may be glued to Nike’s “Next Nature” line-up, the Three Stripes led partnership has yet to slow, continuing strong in 2022 with a new set of UltraBOOST 21s.
Designed with oceans in mind, the runner is built with a hybrid yarn: 50% is made up of Parley Ocean Plastic, while the other utilizes recycled polyester. This material is used to create a rather simple upper, one clad primarily in black; the details atop incorporate brighter shades, as white stitches the paneling and light blues accent the side strap and tongue label. Finally, BOOST is laid below in its typical neutral, with gum bottoms laid underfoot.
