Sneaker News The abundance of culture and tradition in Louisiana has served Jordan Brand well in regards to creating fun and exciting concepts around Zion Williamson’s special edition footwear. From the muddy waters to the spooky deities, the South has made its way onto Jordan Zion footwear — and it certainly does so on this upcoming Jordan Zion 2 signature shoe.
This upcoming release takes on a lifestyle approach as it features an upper patched together with hemp-like materials, rough suede, and hairy exteriors, while a skull on the heel strongly suggests an inspiration from New Orleans Voodoo. The design and construction as a whole mimics the hand-made dolls and effigies that are commonly used in voodoo rituals. Considered a religion with African roots, Voodoo is a major player in the regional identity of the Louisianan city.
While Jordan Brand has yet to officially announce the Jordan Zion 2, we expect something on paper closer to the 2022-2023 season. Stay tuned for updates and check out a first look here.
