Over the course of the past few years, the definition of a sneaker has gradually begun to blur. Ye and Salehe Bembury, for example, have turned the clog into something else entirely, as the Yeezy Foam Runner and Crocs Pollex Clog have ranked highly next to even the best Air Jordan 1s. And alongside, modularity and utility have once again become important thanks to Snow Peak, who teamed up with New Balance in 2020 for a three-way sneaker.
Here, in the year 2022, Jordan Brand has seemingly taken all of the above into consideration for their next innovation, one that blends elements from the sneaker and the clog. This shoe, whose name has yet to be disclosed, is made up of two core parts: an outer, clog-like shell and an internal bootie. The latter emulates a sock-like fit, incorporating an elephant print-styled knit throughout much of its construction, while the former opts for a simpler, cream-colored mold that rests on a relatively robust sole.
For a closer at look at Jordan Brand’s answer to the clog, see the official images below. More details should surface very soon, so sit tight.
In other news, the Air Jordan 1 Black/White is finally coming back.
