The Nike Air Force 1 High is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a number of high-profile collaborations and special releases. In addition, Bruce Kilgore’s iconic design is dressing up in heritage-driven ensembles.
For the latest take on the made-for-basketball silhouette, the Swoosh has applied a Boston Celtics-friendly color combination to the New York City-staple. “Summit White” suede takes over much of the pair’s upper, with canvas ankle straps and partly-recycled midsoles also following suit. The TD Garden-appropriate hues, then, arrive via the dual profile swooshes and upper heel panel. “Neptune Green” flair also animates the non-standard label on the top of the tongue, which references the tall Air Force 1‘s debut in 1982. Together, each aforementioned component helps expand the design catalog of Kilgore’s creation while also offering a summer-ready option for the impending season.
Enjoy official images of the pair ahead, and anticipate a Nike.com launch soon.
