Michael Le In 2022, the Nike Air Griffey Max 1 — alongside several nods to Ken Griffey Jr. — has paid homage to a few California legends, from the Lakers to the Dodgers. And soon, the silhouette will sing the praises of yet another team: the San Francisco Giants.
The inspiration is clear even at a glance, as the palette directly mirrors the signature colors of the Giants themselves. Similar to how it’s used on the team’s logo, pops of orange only appear in seldom here, accenting the eye stays, cushioning, and much of the branding throughout the shoe. Elsewhere, the leather base and nubuck overlays opt for off-white and black, respectively, rounding out the tribute to the San Francisco baseballers.
