In celebration of its 40th Anniversary, Nike has stamped the Air Force 1 many a time with the number “82,” affectionately recalling the shoe’s debut year. And despite the addition of more contemporary design elements, this upcoming colorway is but another nod to the history of Bruce Kilgore’s beloved creation.
“82” is displayed right across the tongue, styled in a modern font that’s also used for the “NIKE” branding across the heel. The Circular Design logo, then, marks the sockliner, signaling the use of recycled materials. And these, alongside constructing the midsole, are used throughout the upper, shaping the light tan overlays, white leather base, and the dual, yellow-on-black Swooshes.
