Michael Le New Balance has rapidly become a key player in the current sneakersphere. And with the assistance of Teddy Santis, founder of the much-beloved Aime Leon Dore, the footwear brand is rapidly expanding the catalogs of many a 990, from the v1 all the way to the v3. Here, the V2 is up to bat yet again, this time sporting a more vibrant, Fall-ready colorway entitled “Marigold.”
Unlike past offerings released under the “MADE in USA” flag, this 990v2 is much less understated. The bright “Marigold” shade is used along much of the upper, brushing both its suede overlays and mesh inserts. Black accents are then placed just over top: of note, the neutral highlights the “N” logo and the trims layered across the forefoot. Off-White and plain white finishes round out the design, dressing the midsole/laces and tongue/lining, respectively.
Retail for $195 USD, the 990v2 “Marigold” will be made available on August 12th via NewBalance.com.
