Stranger Things was a breakout hit upon its premiere in 2016. And thanks to this success, the franchise had the opportunity of working with Nike on a wide assortment of collaborative sneakers, which released throughout the Summer of 2019. Fast forward to 2022 and the series is receiving yet another extensive capsule, this time produced by neighbors of the Byers household: Anaheim’s very own Vans.
Comprised of multiple sneakers and a drove of apparel pieces, the collection highlights the usual classics, all of which are covered with references to the show. The Old Skool and SK8-Hi, specifically, are the only silhouettes to come in two varieties: on one end, they’re dressed with screengrabs or various, Dungeons & Dragons motifs; the other, they’re either covered in direct nods to the Demogorgon or Eddie Munson’s Hellfire Club.
The accompanying Era and Slip-On are somewhat bolder in approach. Alongside featuring the same screengrabs mentioned above, the laced-up pair covers its toe with a fiery version of the Stranger Things logo. This graphic is used much more heavily across the Slip-On, dressing throughout the forefoot as well as the heel. Finally, the Authentic completes the range with its Surfer Boy Pizza inspired details.
