This past year, adidas has gone to great lengths to reinvigorate the NMD line-up, introducing two, forward-thinking sequels: the NMD V3 and the NMD S1. They’ve even tapped longtime collaborator Pharrell, who this past April ushered in the NMD S1 RYAT, a hiking-inspired modification that draws inspiration from the artist’s renewed love and appreciation of the outdoors.
Come September 2nd, Pharrell and adidas will usher in the second colorway of the NMD S1 RYAT, the “Cardboard.” Similar to its predecessor, this pair borrows and tweaks the look of iconic boots. It’s possible the classic Timberland 6-eye was a key influence, though the work of Danner could also have played a part in the design. From top to bottom, the construction is predominantly clad in earth tones, with “Cardboard” and “Beige Tone” alternating across the midsole and TPU/suede upper. Grey textiles, then, layer underneath; black outsoles line the bottom; and hits of neon, from “Solar Yellow” to “Solar Red,” are strewn about the profile and lower sidewalls.

In other news, the Nike Air Foamposite One Metallic Red is returning.
