For the first time in over a decade, a signature basketball silhouette is being made for one of the WNBA’s best and brightest stars, Olympic Gold Medalist and Seattle Storm superstar Breanna Stewart.
The first women’s signature model since Candace Parker’s adidas Ace line debuted in 2010, the Puma Stewie 1 Quiet Fire comes a year and half removed from the League MVP’s addition to the brands budding hoops roster. Headlining the companies inclusive product offerings, the model pulls direct inspiration from Stewart’s destructive ability with the ball coupled with her calm and suave demeanor by way of a titular “Neon Yellow” forefoot and contrasting “Black” heel.
The established vibrant tone of the North Star-inspired upper – an homage to her high school team – transitions along the perforated monomesh in a gradient ending in the Storm’s synonymous Forest Green. The aforementioned glowing hue is lastly called upon for the inner lining, tongue construction, midsole and forefoot tread before transitioning into an all-black molded heel-counter infused with NITRO foam. The latter dark accent is further employed along Stewart’s logo on the tongue and uppers leather quarter overlay where as the Formstrip opts for a white outlined proposition.
Putting an end to the industry’s signature drought within the women’s game, the Puma Stewie 1 Quiet Fire will be available this Friday, September 16th for a retail price of $120 via one of the shopping links below while an accompanying collection of apparel will follow suit in October.
In other news, the New Balance 550 is sampling the color palette of Marquette University.
