Since taking over the responsibilities as the NBA’s on-court apparel provider in 2017, Nike has delivered an unparalleled attention to detail through its various jersey formats. Expanding upon the classic Home, Away, and Alternate editions, Nike presented the “City Edition” style uniform, diving deep into the nooks and crannies of each home arena’s traditions in effort to further connect the team with its fans.
For the 2022-2023 season, Nike has presented yet another batch of NBA City Edition uniforms for all teams (with the exception of the Utah Jazz), with each set focusing on a specific piece of local culture. The Portland Trailblazers jerseys, for example, features the local airport code with a green pattern made infamous by the “PDX Carpet” that became a social media phenomenon. Atlanta’s continuing “Peachtree” storyline expands on the concept that debuted three years ago, which is the same amount of time a tree takes to grow.
