Not many know of Stone Island for their shoes, as for most the name conjures to mind images of cutting edge, waterproof materials, technical garments, and the signature arm badge. Some might be ignorant to the brand’s footwear program altogether, paying more attention to their collaborative efforts with the likes of Nike and New Balance. This may change soon, however, as the Massimo Osti-founded outfit is expanding upon said inline collection with references to rock, football, and even grime.
The first selection, entitled 77FWS0101, takes us back to the early ’70s, drawing inspiration from retro classics and military trainers alike. The silhouette — which arrives in an olive, white, and navy colorway — features both polished and soft suedes, debossed compass logos, artisanal topstitches, and premium gum rubber soles. Football is evidently at the heart of the next offering, 77FWS0202, whose monochromatic styling and metallic ripstop construction elevates the three pairs’ nods to the sport. Finally, the 77FWS0303 rounds out the trio with its own triplet of palettes, all of which marry UK Grime culture with several Stone Island archival cues.

In other news, the first Notre Converse collaboration is dropping later this week.
