Amidst The Swooshes constant influx of Air Force 1’s, the mid-80s “Color of the Month” initiative has returned for the silhouette’s 40th anniversary, providing a clear distinction between the retooled premium leather of the latter compared to its contemporaries. Following a quick hiatus from its titular Swoosh and an all-white construction in place of a clad colored real estate seen on the “University Red” AF1 proposition, the former is called to return for its “Metallic Silver” offering.
As is customary with the collection, a triple-white upper extends along its tongue and heel tabs, laces and sock liner in addition to the colorless smooth leather overlays. While in one light, the midfoot Checks may render a crisp white, a slight change in the lighting angle reveals a shiny “Metallic Silver” coating whereas smoke grey hues lay claim to the remaining design elements including the embroidered old-school “NIKE” text on the heel, its “AIR” counterpart sitting amongst a solid white midsole and along the entirety of the tread in conclusion.
While we sit tight on the pair’s expected release date within the coming weeks, enjoy official images of the latest Air Force 1 Color of the Month below in the meantime.
