Jovani Hernandez Unveiled to the world via known sneaker leakers in early October, the SoleFly x Air Jordan 13 has recently surfaced in official images.
Despite turning 25, the Air Jordan silhouette has maintained a quiet anniversary celebration, which Miami’s premier boutique with familial ties to #23 is looking to change. Nothing about the pair’s inspiration has been shared by SoleFly, but the sneaker’s light blue makeup immediately draws comparisons to Michael Jordan’s alma mater, the University of North Carolina.
Dimpled overlays across the profiles boast the titular blue tone, which delivers a softer punch than NIKE, Inc.’s official “University Blue” hue, as does the midsole underfoot. Inner lining also indulges in the Spring 2023-appropriate color, but features different textures and patterns that embolden the Tar Heel-reminiscent blue. An elephant print-like graphic is stamped onto the insoles, likely working with the special edition water-and-sand-covered shoe box to speak to SoleFly’s inspiration for its Jordan 13. Ripstop nylon appears in the mix via the shoe’s base layer, introducing a “Sail” arrangement to the collaborative pair. Suede throughout the profiles and around the heel opt for a neutral grey that allows for co-branding on the top of the tongue and vamp, as well as the aforementioned light blue, to revel in the spotlight. Lastly, herringbone traction underfoot dons a gum brown finish sure to win over some naysayers of the 25-year-old design.
No firm Nike SNKRS release details have been disclosed by either party, but that’s likely to change as 2023 inches closer. In the meantime, enjoy official images of the retro ahead.

UPDATE November 8th, 2022:
No one from SoleFly or Jordan Brand has come out to confirm the inspiration behind the upcoming Air Jordan 13, but the pattern found on the sneaker’s sock-liners are identical to the the paint job found on Michael Jordan’s Catch 23 yacht.
