John Kim An advanced preview of 2023 Jordan Releases continues as we get an official look at one of the first drops of the new year – the Air Jordan 5 “Mars For Her”.
Designed to mirror the surface of the red planet, the Air Jordan 5 “Mars For Her” draws on the full-red “Raging Bull” look that was established with 2009’s Toro Bravo collection. However, the suede isn’t as saturated, but rather adapts a weathered look. The midsole, interior, and lace eyelets are a lunar black, while the sharks tooth detailing at the fore-foot sees a blazing hot gradient of reds and oranges seen on space vessels upon re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere. The outsole and the lace-lock sees an milky yellow translucent rubber, while the big reflective tongue, the keynote details of Tinker Hatfield’s Air Jordan 5, returns.
