Currently on tour celebrating his reign as the King of Mandopop and 20th year in the industry, Jay Chou’s PHANTACi streetwear label has been consistently churning out edgy fashion pieces while cementing itself within Taipei’s lifestyle ecosystem. As disparate cuts and sizes of apparel pieces dominate the brand’s release schedule, Chou’s love for basketball has proffered the return of his design language being infused with an on-court silhouette, debuting the PHANTACi x Reebok Question Low.
As the first collaborative sneaker by the brand in a little under two years, PHANTACi’s staple black, white and vibrant red/pink outfit coordinates for a synonymous effort akin to that of its PUMA R698 build from 2016. Tumbled black leathers and a horizontally ridged midfoot overlay extend a near-clad composition in tandem with its pitch-dark laces and sock liner. Indulging in a patent leather toe box up front, the remaining embellishments of the upper, including its midfoot window, heel tab and tongue construction, all extend an amalgamation of “PH” logos for a hint of obscure luxury whereas its tread employs a titular pink extension underfoot. Affixing the #18 along the insoles as an homage to creative director Jay Chou’s January birthdate, the Boston-based brand’s logos provide a vibrant finish along the tongue and heel in conclusion.
Set to release this Sunday on Christmas Day at phantacio.com, enjoy official images of the PHANTACi x Reebok Question Low below in the meantime.
